This is an absolute outrage. It is souless and wicked. I could not watch this entire video. I truly do believe that we reap what we sow and these are some very evil seeds. If anyone has any futher information on how we can legally hinder or damage this/these industries I would love to know.

You can start by composing a email message with the above link and send it to your congressman and senators. First thing that has to be done is to increase awareness. Sending links to media outlets also can't hurt. If enough people distribute the link then you gain awareness and from there a movement to stop such atrocities.

This should be a sticky on every scuba forum on the internet.

This footage has been around for years. It's very sad. This is an annual hunt, and the Japanese Government does not want to do anything about this annual hunt.

Japan also ignores whaling sanctions. I generally don't quote GreenPeace, however in this case I've been watching this for some time, and they have the facts straight even if they are a very bias group.

Japan wants to resume large-scale commercial whaling and has undertaken a major effort to overturn the international ban on whaling. Unable to persuade members of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) to lift the current moratorium on commercial whaling, Japan has embarked on a vote-buying initiative to manipulate the process and shift the balance of power at the IWC.
The truly sad part about the Whaling is that they don't have any demand for the meat. The Japanese government can't always sell the meat, so they put it in school lunches! Ironically most children are not very fond of whale meat. I think the main thing they use the wale for is the fat, and oil.

We can also throw shark finning into the mix, and now we have a thread ripe with eco and political madness!

IMO the best thing that people can do is to boycott companies that sell shark fins, whale products, or dolphin products. Unfortunately since most of us may not live in the countries where this is widespread, it's difficult to make a difference. However Disney stopped selling Shark Fin Soup recently in their Asian Locations due to public outrage.

Writing a letter to your Congressman, or Senator is never a bad idea. If they receive enough they may take some type of legislation action. However this is more of an international issue.

Absolutely horrible. I've had the chance to see these beautiful creatures in their own environment, not at a dolphin park, or anything like that, and they are magnificent. With all the political fury surrounding the dolphin hunts and whale hunts it's miserable that Japan still participates in this "tradition".

Anyone who has had a true dolphin encounter, and I'm assuming anyone who has paid to swim with the dolphins has an idea about how beautiful and smart these creatures are, and this video should absolutely horrify them.

So...Just curious. I see allot of post here on the ST forum from people about how they are upset by mistreatment of wildlife or the environment.

Did you actually fill out the petition? Not a judgement, just a question.....

If you missed the link here it is: CDNN ACT NOW :: Scuba Diving Safety, Environmental Issues

This one works also: northamerica.oceana.org: Action Center

I just did!!! I used the northamerica.oceana.org link directly above this post. There are over 2300 users in this forum; wouldn't it be great if all of you would lend your voice to the cause?
