How long a dive season in North Texas?

How late into the year can someone comfortably dive in just a 3m wetsuit around North Texas, say Clear Springs or Athens?

Depends on how cold natured you are. I would have quit diving a 3mil in north texas about 3 weeks ago. I will be in my Fusion 5/4 this weekend and it will still be chilly.

Ha, that's not bad at all, I dove in my 3/2/1 in NH in may when it was 62 at the surface, so I could get refreshed and practice skills before going to St. Thomas, USVI, where it was 84 at the surface and 82 at 100'.

Its not just the water temp that causes the problem. If there is any kind of breeze blowing, or it is overcast, it is really hard to recover lost core temp. I can tell that our class sizes have already dropped off dramatically.

3mm, I used that in June at CSSP. I do not like cold. Fact got Mike at DEMA getting me a Pinnacle Extreme semi dry with hood, boot & gloves.

Texas Diving includes DFW, right? only a couple hours to Cozumel or Belize - 3 mil is plenty there

i agree, dive season is the only thing longer than NASCAR season. however, i do tend to make fewer repetative dives when its colder do to core temp loss.
