Question SCUBA makes my doctor miss me

OK feel free to flame me but here goes.

In my younger days I lived life a little too hard. Thanks to this history I am now a tad arthritic and my chiropractor enjoys looking at my x-rays. Additionally after one of my adventures at age 23 I have little feeling in my left leg below the knee.

If I do 30-60’ for 30 minutes min almost everything corrects itself. The pain in my joints is gone for at least two weeks to a month. Also though I don’t get full sensation back my leg it just “feels better”. So what is doing this for me? The pressure or my head?

Any and all thoughts are sought and even calling me a crackpot is welcomed!

I get sick if I am out of the water for a few days. Catching the flu or cold is what normally happens.

I see that professional football players use decompression cambers to speed up injury healing so maybe thats along the same lines as diving. Another excuse for using Nitrox.

The idea is that the injuried sportsperson is placed in a deco chamber and taken on a "dry" dive. During this dry dive the sportsperson is given an increased oxygen mix inside the chamber. This gives the sportperson more absorbion of oxygen which leads to quicker recovery time for the injury.

So it would be same as doing a dive on high percentage of Nitrox. Same in theory.

They are starting to use chambers to speed up healing in people after surgery as well, so it's not just athletes.

I'd say if diving is relieving your pain, don't stop!

Good enough for me. Now I can use ...... But honey I have to go diving, I hurt my back getting the groceries out of the car. It's for medical reasons.

Now if I can just get my doctor to prescribe diving with a re-breather.

I know some doctors use Deco chambers to aid in he healing of burn victims.
