I think they already are an Oceanic dealer. So now they'll have to sell at Oceanic's suggested retail price. (MAP/MARP/MSRP?)
Which it looks like they're doing, a quick look at Oceanic fins on the LP website shows the Vortex16 at $179 and the Vortex8 at $99. That's the exact same price as on Oceanic's online dealer site. And they've got the Datamask at $1495 as does everyone else. They don't mention it but I'd guess that you get the full Oceanic Warranty also. Last edited by diversteve : 11-06-2007 at 07:56 PM. |

They are not authorized at this time... I had dinner with the president of oceanic at dema 2 nights last week, and they are trying to become authorized, and they were told if they bring everything up to map, and keep it there - then they will consider it.... Most all items are at this point - but not everything yet - so they are not shipping them at this time.
But with the competition building for them and their gray market goods harder to get since some companies do a good job at cutting them off - an attempt to try to go legit was really their only choice. In the long run, it's probably best for the industry - but our stance was price is not a problem - I can match any price even if we can't advertise lower prices - and most people know our stand on service, and in the end, that's what most people want anyway. |

Right On! Service is number one. Price is number two. That was really brought out in a recent transation that was snake bit. Those happen once in awhile. When they do they cost everybody (seller and customer) money, time and frustration. But, in the end good service brings everyone as good a result as can be had. |

With Leisure Pro increasing prices it might steer more people towards ScubaToys. You won't be able to look on the net and see it advertised fo so much less. Could be a good thing, and if they are now having to play by the same rules as everyone else that can't be bad for ScuabToys.

SCUBA purchases are trust sensitive, not necessarily price sensitive. People buy from ST not so much on price alone (though that is a big factor), but on the fact that you give them what they expect and more at times. |
