Tiger shark experience

These were taken from a video during a dive on Eel skins reef near Durban SA.

An amazing experience, you drift along at around 5m while the Tigers circle the bait bucket.

I agree, they look like quattros. I have a green pair, and they look yellow at depth if the vis isn't great. Or is it that yellow look green at depth? Anyway they look the same at depth.

Dunno about that, they seemed very curious and came quite close to have a look but never felt too nervous.

Had a few close encounters with Zambezi's *Bulls) though that were a little scary

yes tigers are (of the sharks to look out for) dangerous. but this is relative of course. the danger with a tiger is that they do not "bite" to explore and be curious. the tigers manner is to FINISH the job; whereas a bull or even a great white will bite and let go after realizing, "hey, this isn't my normal food source". The tiger is the trash can of the ocean, meaning EVERYTHING is a food source....so if he bites, he isn't going to disappear, he IS going to come back to finish it, if he even leaves at all. but they are not ambush attackers as much as some other species of sharks are. I wouldn't be afraid of a tiger unless he was displaying aggresive swimming patterns and behaviors...with that said when feeding, the tiger does appear to be very calm...i turn you to this video, which DID happen to be the exception to the rule, it seems, as an exploratory bite (fortunately for the diver-LOL)

YouTube - Tiger Shark Bite

I wonder if this tiger confused the divers tank with a "feeding tube" or "bait bucket".....hmmmmmmmm...and did the shark pick up on the electrical impulses given off by the tank in the water....and did you notice how calm the shark seemed to be....not really in "attack mode"......i wonder what was going through the divers mind....

I've seen this one before. I doubt the diver knew what was happening till he saw the shark leave.
