Talking The Confessional-Boneheaded moves

OK, I pulled on today. Here it is:

It is very important to do one thing before doubling your tanks together with a manifold. That thing is to make sure your VIP is up to date on both tanks.

I painstakingly put my doubles together Wednesday and brought them in for a fill today. They checked the stickers and had me break down the whole set, they did the VIP, and then had me reassemble them to be filled. I felt like a total nimrod.

It took 3 hours to get my doubles filled, and now I believe everyone who sys you do not want to double and un-double your tanks much because it is a pain in the rear.

So, what stupid things have you done that you knew better than to do? Please only tell on yourself. I know some doosies done by others, but am not going to tell so I can protect the innocent!

Boarding the boat without my reg in my mouth, only to lose my grip on the railing and fall hard back into the water. Fortunately nobody was under the ladder and I quickly recovered my reg, but I do know better than to drop my reg until I'm nearly to my seat.

Getting in the water with my drysuit zipper not closed all the way. Made for a very short dive.

How about the infamous "not unbungying your tank" move?? <LOL> That one always makes me laugh...at myself!

Score a perfect "10" on your giant stride only to find out that you aren't wearing your fins. DOH!! This is especially embarrassing when you're suppose to be doing negative descents.

1) A perfect giant stride, only to realize you can't descend - I guess you need a weight belt!

2) Descending through 10 feet in 50 degree water, pushing the dry suit inflate button, and get that sinking Wet feeling on your chest!

How about descending with a snorkel in your mouth instead of a reg? Fortunately that hasn't happened to me since I haven't worn a snorkel since my last OW certification dive.

Removed the reg without depressurizing. Pop goes the o-ring.

I've gone down in about 10 feet of water to check bouancy with snorkel instead of reg and taken a nice drink of lake water.
