I hope all goes well and next sunday I will be back with great news! I can't even tell you how excitted and honored I am to finally be joining the members of society known as "Scuba divers"!
![]() Please, friends, pray that our class goes well and that we can perform all the skills safely and proficiently. If you have any advice or words of wisdom or warning, let me know! My wife and I are very excited and can't wait to tell you all the news next week! Again, thank you for being a part of helping us gear up, wait patiently, and remaining excited as we take a first step into a dream! God bless you! Dive Deeper (soon to be the newest OW diver on ST!) ![]()

Congrats on making the best decision you could possibly make.
First and foremost, enjoy the class and make the best use of your training time. Be prepared for the consequences of your actions: Still having wrinkled skin on monday morning. A fascination with almost any body of water, wondering what it's visib is. Having all your vacation thoughts turning to the Caribbean and other worthy nice dive spots. Finding all sorts of "gotta have gear"...the list is endless. |

Good Luck. I think you'll really enjoy getting certified with your wife. My wife and I both love diving and having a hobby we can share is nice too. She still has her own hobbies and I mine, but diving with her makes it that much more fun!

remember to have fun and pay attention and don't get discouraged if you don't master a skill on the first try. I had a 12yr old girl who started her OW class with me in June who was still doing pool skills in August but she developed the confidence and got her OW by end of August,

Enjoy, your life is about to take different direction, and this isn't a bad thing. I know after you complete your course you will have a ton of questions. Well you're in the right place to find some answers.

It's awesome the two of you will be diving together. My Open Water class is one of the best memories I have when I was growing up (certified at 14). Some people master skills in OW right off the bat and others take a little more time to learn them. I've seen both types of people develop into great divers. The best advice I can give you is to have fun and enjoy the experience. It's one of the most rewarding hobbies out there. Good luck and please let us know if you have any questions.
