Ok, I'm picking. I would want to say people that look like they just bought their gear. I can't though, I just bought all of mine and it spanky looking new. I'll dive with anyone that has all of their gear stowed properly. If they are going to a big stride or back roll off a boat and their SPG/Octo/anything else is hanging free, I will call the dive. if I do dive with someone that keeps their gear tidy but, they careless about being a buddy underwater, I'll call the dive. If they don't plan to be a team and actually dive together, I'll pass. I'm sure there are other things as well but, I'll stop for now.. Michael |

Of course I'm just kidding... If it doesn't say ScubaToys - it's a chance to make a new customer!
I don't mind diving with someone who doesn't know what they are doing - heck, I'm a course director and instructor - I do that all the time. It's only if I try to make a suggestion on something and they blow me off as "I know everything" attitude that I won't dive with them. I learn from everyone I can on every dive - and if someone does not want input and assistance - I assume I; 1) could have trouble with them, and 2) not enjoy the company. |

I think someone would have to do something really stupid, like put their BC on backwards, for me not to try diving with them once. If they did something ridiculously unsafe during the dive, I would not dive with them again. We were all beginners and have looked to others for experience; therefore, I don’t mind helping the next person out. However, I will not risk my life because the other diver is too stupid to learn or take GOOD advice. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

I think you can usually look at a person and see if they have their stuff squared away or not. I knowI don't want to be 100 feet down and not know how this person is going to handle a stressful situation. I would be happy to dive with them on the shallow reef where I'm not pushing up against NDL's. See how that goes and then go from there.
