Weird Hookah system
A couple of months ago I was checking out E-bay and I came across what appreared to be a old (and scary) hookah system. I forgot the name of it but it was truly freightning. The hose looked like a pool hose and there was some sort of bag mounted on your chest that the air came through. And it mentioned something about having to bend your legs to draw air into this bag in order for you to breath. The person who was selling it described it as a great tool to have on your boat in order to go under to check things out. I may be a Nube when it comes to diving but even I didn't think this was a good idea.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I can't believe I'm answering this but YES, it sounds familiar. The system I saw didn't have a bag and you didn't have to bend your knees.
One of the "old" crew at our LDS started diving with a similiar setup. This was, as he puts it, way back when nobody really knew anything about scuba diving. He wanted to see "what was down there" so he built a system at home. He still has the system in his garage and I saw it one-time. I didn't know whether I should laugh at him for his stupidity or admire him for his guts. |

From the picture of the Farrah look alike on the box the 60's or 70's sound about right. I just can not remember the name of it. It was in the last three months so I I got the name I could do a search on E-bay and get to the completed auction and get a picture.
