Knife in a No Knife Zone

Have you or would you sneak a small knife into a place where you have been told no knifes are allowed? I have seen a few places where this has been mentioned. I read it on the Bonne Terre mine website and some cruise websites. I don't know if I would feel comfortable without something to get me out of a tangle.

Hmm... I've heard of no knife zones but never really understood the laws behind it or dove at one. I wold personally just use dive shears at a no knife zone if this ever happened to me.

I'd just bring along a set of sheers. If they have no knife rules its probably for a good reason.

Carry shears instead..

And there's *nothing* in Bonne Terre Mine to get caught on that knife will get you out of, except maybe one of the idiot divers that keeps clambering over you to get a look at the umpteenth ore cart.....

I've never seen a good reason for those sorts of restrictions.

no knife

At Bonne Terre , the no knife is because if you drop it, they will not go get it. Well thats what they told me.

So, if I'm diving over a cliff dive and drop it down 3,000' is someone going to go get it for me there?

Like I said, no good reason . . .

Some places like Coz and GC are worried about people damaging the reefs. They say no knives and no gloves. Personally, I'll steak my steak knife in when I dive there (DIR knife).
