1st offshore dives ever

So, It's on. 6 months ago I got serious about diving. I took the course and took the course seriously. I Bought the gear.....all of it in fact it is all "Brand.....Spankin" new! I am familiar with it. Dove many times in the Fl. springs. Been hangin' with divers.

1st offshore is coming up....I can taste it. In fact it is an anticipation that is literally bursting from me. From the time I wake up till the time I actually drift from conciousness to full sleep.

My dive shop has a new boat. Richie Kohler has it booked and will be diving with them the 18th-21 or 22nd of this month. Last time I was at the diveshop for an event, Richie was the event.

Mind is giong crazy over here. The joy, the anticipation, the preperation, the fear, wondering how many questions will be answered and how many thoughts will be justified. It has consumed me. All of this that I have just spoke....has consumed me.

Fear growing....anticipation ......growing........excited pre hype.....building.....$#!t I wanna get offshore and underwater..... breathing on compressed gas Mu^#f@&!n' blues going on! Somebody tranq my @$$!

Sounds fun, I get anxious on new dives as well. It's hard to sleep because my mind is so busy thinking about it.

I'm afraid there's no cure, either for your rabid anticipation or for my jealously.

Have a GREAT time!

Oh. Be sure to share all your cool "Richie and I . . . " stories when you return. (They don't even have to be 100% true!)

Goober,

You are going to have an awesome time. I can feel the energy in your post. You'll have to do a full write-up when you are done.

I dove with Richie Kohler a few months ago here in New Jersey. Here is the link to the write-up. New Jersey Scuba Diving Forum :: View topic - 11/25/07: Delaware wreck with Richie Kohler and John YurgaThere are also a few topside pics (link is on the last post). He is a very cool guy and as down to earth as they come. We did an "air lift dive" on a shallow (80') wreck off the NJ coast.

Don't forget to realx and enjoy yourself so you don't burn throught your first tank in 20 minutes. Oh yeah, don't forget to add more weight for salt water, I usually allow about 25% more that fresh water.
