I'm guessing a greasy snipe. He does have the sound of someone whose shop door got welded shut after leaving greasy handprints (snipe-swipes) on a freshly painted bulkheads.
(A good Boatswain Mate will never, ever allow his subordinates to seek vengeance for vengeance's sake - for they are likely not good enough at it to not get caught, and it's just plain easier to explain if you done did it yourself.) He definitely isn't a deckie - a deckie would respect the guy that "makes it stop bleeding so I don't have to go to that damned creepy MD for stitches". |

PADI used to issue a C-card to any trained military diver who wanted one. Send them an email, fax them your military card with your info, and they would issue you a PADI OW card (or AOW? can't recall). Unless they've changed this program, it's worth looking into. Not sure if they charge the usual $35 fee for a "replacement card" or not.
The PADI c-card is recognized more widely, as this thread has made clear, but the military training is more than adequate, so I believe they simply do it as a service and "thank you" for the military. (and the free advertising doesn't hurt) Again, I don't know if they still do this or not, but it is worth looking into. Edit: I may be remembering this backwards. Suddenly it occurs to me it may have been explained that active military-trained divers can request through military channels for a civilian card to be issued as well. End point is, check into it, because it may just be possible. ![]() Last edited by CompuDude : 02-16-2008 at 04:57 PM. |
