Towel question!

Has anyone used those (allegedly) super quick-drying towels? They're made from microfiber and kind of look like big chamois cloths. I was thinking about trying them for my beach snorkeling trip.

I use one for backpacking. They work well and absorb a ton of water.

It's like a desert full of invisible gnomes with chamois buffers.

Places like REI should have them. I would recommend getting the large. They don't take up very much room.

They're all variations on the same theme.

I prefer a big fluffy Egyptian cotton towel, personally.

I have used the microfiber towels and love them! I've basically found that the brand makes no difference, so buy off brand if you can find one. Having said that, I'd also recommend a larger one because they really take up very little room.. And they do dry very well, hold a lot of water, and are easy to ring.

Thanks soap dude--any off-brands you'd recommend? I'd like to be as miserly as possible!

Id like to add that I used an off brand micro-fiber towel from walmart to dry my vehicles and they left fuzzies every where and didn't make it past their first washing.

Of course, leave it to Walmart to take ultra-cheap to a new level.
