Undercurrent is a great publication. Very good articles and detailed travel information from actual travellers.

I've heard it's a great mag, but the subscription price is higher than most other magazines out there, which is why I don't get it. I think it was $40 or $50 bucks a year for 8 or 10 issues.

It also doesn't seem to be what I'd call a magazine, but a "newsletter". The copy I got was I think 10 or 15 pages long. It had some good content, but seems a little "light" for the subscription cost.

In the long run, for the one copy I got, I just wasn't that impressed enough to fork out $40 to $50 bucks.

With that said though, those who get it seem to have high reviews about it. (so maybe I'm missing something).

One note. I don't think it had any advertising. Some of the other magazines have become slaves (or whores) to their paying advertisers and won't give an honest full up honest gear review or resort review for example.

just my 2psi worth.

I agree it's pretty good reading, but I'll also say I voted with my wallet and didn't renew my subscription.

I'm with the group. Great content, based on the one or two I have read and reports from others... but I'm not going to spend $30/yr for a short newsletter.

I really enjoyed reading it, but like everyone else I didn't renew my subscription. The rates went up significantly this year and that was why.

I think it's well worth the money if you travel even once a year to a high end dive resort off the beaten path or enjoy live aboard trips. If you just dive local and sometimes one of the very popular dive destinations where there is already plenty of info, then it might not be worth your money.

I fall into the second category, so I don't subscribe anymore. I would pick it up again, if only just for the chapbook and archives, if I was planning a big dollar trip.
