TrashFest 2013 - Oct 5th- Official Thread

Mark your calendars! TrashFest will be October 5th
this year!

Come take part in the oldest underwater clean up event in the
country, enjoy a fun day of diving in New Braunfels, Texas and an after-party
BBQ where all team members are eligible to win great door prizes. Last year's
participants took home nearly $42,000 in trips, dive equipment, and other
awesome stuff!

All the low-down can be found at the TrashFest website. (To be
updated this week).

Pre-registration starts August 23rd. Get your team
together today!

Actually, the date is October 6th... per the flyer Wish I could go, but it's a litttle too far south.

the website only has infor for 2012
this looks like fun, but it is like one week before we leave for Coz, would be hard to pull this one off

Sadly, we must announce that Trashfest 2013 on October 5^th has been canceled.

Due to a number of factors, we have concluded that the event this year cannot achieve the high level of participation and fun to which we have become accustomed. As a result of regular river cleanings and stricter law enforcement, the river is remarkably clean. This is a Good Thing. This has been the primary objective of Trashfest since 1974. We hope that the river remains clean.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. In the next few weeks we will arrange refunds for all registrations and shirt sales as well as return of any donations.

We are looking forward to a new Trashfest 2014 that will refocus on the other objectives listed under About Trashfest in a way that will be even more fun. We are evaluating alternative locations, dates, and activities. We do welcome your suggestions.
