    Sydney Snorkeling?

Hey guys. My significant other is studying abroad in Sydney at the moment, and I'm going to visit her in May. We're both avid divers, and we're not sure diving will be in the cards for us this trip. We are looking to try and snorkel a bit offshore though. What will water temps be like in mid-May? Lastly, any spots that have easy beach access and something to see? Thanks!

Went for dive yesterday and it was 18/17 Degress at about 30m.

We were about 500m off the coast. There are heaps of places to Snorkel what area will you be near?

    Water Temperature 05-18-2008

Just did 2 dives today one at color reef and one at the gap and the water temperature was about 19 degree celsius and vis >20 m.

Just started diving in here Sydney though so I can't tell you what the best snorkeling spots are.

    Regards,
    Frank

Check out Michaels site; Michael McFadyen's Scuba Diving Web Site
although more scuba specific full of accurate info.
or try Diveoz www.diveoz.com.au - The Biggest Site for Australian Scuba Diving Info
where a friendly people here someone from Sydney will know exactly where to go. If you come down to Melbourne ( far nicer place to visit, IMHO ) yell.
Any dive you survive is a good dive

When I was there around Easter I was diving out at Shelly Beach, it's not far from the city(Well, not far as I am concerned...) and it was amazing, it seemed OK for Snorkeling, but if you get a chance I would dive it...

That would have to be one of 'the' most dived places in Sydney.
