Dive with the Dillos - 28 June - Athens Scuba Park

Want to dive with a great bunch of fun-loving diving fools? Then join us in the blue water at the Athens Scuba Park in exotic Athens, Texas.

We guarantee excellent visibility; and by "excellent", we mean you might be able to see you pressure gauge. Might.

Viz at CSSP is about 10 to 20 feet most days. Sometimes further. It is better then Athens. CSSP also has plant life and lots of fish versus Athens which has...well, muck...

How was the temperature? When I was there last August, it was warm enough to dive without wetsuit.

We had a great time at Athens today. About a dozen divers showed up. Good food and conversation.

Oh...and prizes. We played underwater poker. A deck of 52 cards was scattered on the bottom, and teams of two divers collected cards and put together their best 5-card hand. Our newest club members won with 4 Aces. The rest of us won prizes as well.

    Good times...

I was hoping you could join us. Finding the cards was fun. You had to trip over them. Each card consisted of a yellow ping-pong ball that floated above the silt, and a string with the card and anchor attached. The viz was indeed terrible.

Yep, went good, Got through the nav. course and was done. Had some issues finding stuff in the vis. On of my points was a platform and I went right over it and never saw it, did a little back tracking and found it.
