    July 4-5 Dive Locations

    Hi Everyone,

It looks like we have a group of local Oronogo divers interested in meeting up with Merri and I on Saturday, July 4. We hope that everyone local to Oronogo will be able to join us and have a group dive and barbeque socialization-thingy.

That leaves Sunday, July 5 open for a new location. If you are available to do a two-day dive with us (or if you couldn't make it on Saturday) what location would you suggest that is within one to two hour's drive of Oronogo?

    Table Rock? Mermet? Something else?

    LOL - Okay. Why?

Is there that much to see/do at Oronogo that it warrants two days? Or, will we get the most people available to hang with us by staying at Oronongo?

I'm not against the idea - just trying to understand why we would not move to a new site.

You also have two good dive spots within a 2 hour drive of Oronogo: Table Rock and Beaver. Hopefully by next summer the vis on both of these will be back to the pre-flood levels again. And we definitely have folks that know these lakes well too.

I have fun at Oronogo, but for you guys a taste of other midwest sights may be in order too.

I would suggest one day at Oronogo and maybe the second day at Dewey Short at Table Rock. Oroongo will be cold even in July and Table will have warmer temps.

I would sure like to.... The 3rd of Jul will be one those days at work but the 4th we are closed? Just depends on the employees and who plans to show up for work on any given day. I would really like to make the Mermet one also!

Here is a neat pic of Oronogo before it was flooded. If you look closely you will see a truck next to one of the caves.
