The last report I heard was mid Jan and the water temperature was 40*F and the air temperature was about 35*F. I will ask around and see if anyone has been there more recently.

By the way, I moved this to the Mid-Atlantic Darkwater Diver forum as the lake is in WV and it will likely get more hits as a lot of the Mt. Storm divers frequent that forum.

I am planning to be there March 14th. There is a group from Northern VA that is doing an altitude class, I told them I would tag along. Anyone that wants to go is welcome!

Actually that is the day my buddy and I were planning on going. As long as the water is 50 that should be good. I did a quarry dive here in central PA in the end of octoberand the first week in november and the water was 50, though my friend said it was in the 40's( november dive). He said he was cold, but I was fine. That was using a 7mm farmer john. I would love to get in touch with people going on that day and see what time they are going to be there.

Below is a cut and paste from a PM I received from someone that was at the Storm today.

I was up there today, temps to 121' were 50 degrees. Vis is down, 6' to 8'. Could be because the wind was really howling, and there were white caps on the lake. Surface temps were 24, with 30 mph wind, sort of brutal. Just let me know when you would like to do it, and I will be there.
