I have lived on the beach and had businesses on the beach from San Diego to Catalina.....I've never seen one but people standing beside me swear they saw it....I've always thought they were yanking my chain....But you know guys have a touch of color blindness.

Saw one while doing a live aboard on Blackbeards 5 years ago we were at Elbow Cay in Cay Sal Bank. It was caught on video. They are rare to say the least. I used to see them off the SoCal Coast when I was a kid but now there is too much pollution.

If you search it on Wikipedia there are some photos and an explanation of the physics involved.
Very cool! Would love to see one!

I've seen heaps, literally dozens. I work at sea and a calm, cloudless horizon almost guarantees that a green flash will happen.

I've also seen photos of green flashes on mountain ranges and building edges.

    Cheers

I grew up sailing in the Keys and I've seen it a number of times. Always calm seas and clear skies

We saw it just a few weeks down in Roatan. It was a cloudless day. You have to really watch for it.
