Ok, I've sent Larry a PM (I don't know if anyone else has or not). Hopefully, this will happen.

For the record, my MOM is not the best cook. She does some things well, but is not the greatest (even in the family). Back when Microwaves were 1st coming on the scene, she had to have one. I don't know how many meals she tried to cook in that thing before she decided that you couldn't cook meat in the thing without it being rubbery, and inconsistent throughout. Probably the worst month or two of my memories as a kid. We later found out that other than leftovers, bacon, or popcorn, the thing was a waste of counter space.

My Mother-In-Law on the other hand was a wonderful cook. But mostly country style cooking (does it really get any better anyway?). I don't know if any of you buy the Mary B's frozen biscuits, but that was started by her brother. When he was starting up, he just had dumplings. The recipe he used was my Mother-in-Law's recipe. To this day, my son has to have dumplings like Memaw used to make.

    Most Excellent Larry!!!!

IMHO, it doesn't necessarily need to be seafood to be a good recipe. There are a lot of midwest, not so lucky to share the wonderful seafood bounty that's out there and you cna only do so much with perch, diver here too. And when you can come out of the nice cold water at Table Rock and enjoy a nice steaming hot bowl of Chili, go for it! Besides, unfortunately, we don't get to dive everyday-unlike Mitsu or Quero.

I once saved a man in Wichita just to watch him dive...(inventor)

Well my food thread was about easy guy and gal friendly food to prepare while on a dive trip after a 4 dive day? Doesn't that count?

You're not taking into account evolution. We are all just sea creatures that breathe air now (If you believe Darwin). So cows, pigs, birds, etc, are nothing more than a branch of seafood.

    How's that for a s t r e t c h ?

Great... tonight I think I'll toss some Amoeba on the grill.. Perhaps with a bit of BBQ sauce!
