    DIY Oceanic Geo cable?

I have an Oceanic Geo and would like to dl dives, but not for the asking price of 100 bucks.
Anyone know if others have made diy link cables for other watches?
if only it was 4 blanks usb pins in their custom configuration

It's been asked before Jupe. The problem is that the Oceanic cable is more than just a connection cable; it's a converter of sorts for the data being sent. Not only that, but it's proprietary information-which is why another company has not been able to make them for a lower price. I am sure there is someone outthere who could possibly make a DIY cable, but they have mountians more computer saavy than me.

For the time, the original gear is what's available...

Looks like the Geo is the same thing as the Aeris Manta. My buddy and I are working on a DIY for this. should not be too difficult, three wire to USB. I agree though, 100 for a USB cable is somthing I cant justify buying. Looking at the cable, it does not seem like there is any inline components, but davetowz or I will let yall know how it turns out.

Gotta be simple, usb is +5 ,GND, data+,data-. take power out and u r left with 3 pins. just what is the magic combo? I will probably just buy one then ring it out.( no I won't return it after!)conector_USB.JPG
Problem is: how are pins arranged at the device?

I dont think power would be used on this cable, your comp already has power. the interface on the watch has 3 pins. i'll go halvsies with you on this so we can figure it aus.

The magic in the cable is just figuring out the layout of the pins on the device. The mechanical connection is pretty easy. This one has been on the get'r dun list for a while. Maybe I should bump it up.

I got mine at a half price sale. I will map out the pins when I get a chance and check voltages.
