    Variable beam, dimmable dive light

I'd like a versatile dive light that could be used for general day diving to bring out colours (wide, smooth beam) and look under ledges, but that is also good for night diving in various conditions (tight beam with good penetration and signalling as well as wider beam when ambient light is okay). The mb sub X-1 VB seems to be suitable, but are there other/better options, and can anyone endorse the X-1 VB?

I own the x1-vb and thoroughly recommend, great during day in 3degree mode amazingly bright and great at night at wider beam, awesome light.
PS I own the AA version.

Thanks buddhasummer. I'm also interested in the AA version.
