    LP Miflex hose failure

My Miflex inflator hose failed this weekend, did not blow out as the HP ones did, it actually stopped delivering air to the wing. I checked checked the inflator valve and corrugated hose connection at the wing looking for blockage and found nothing. Then changed the hose to a standard rubbed one and presto.

I cut the hose with my shears and actuated the little schrader valve inside, it seemed to function properly. It doesn't appear the hose is collapsing internally but I cannot find another failure point.

    Just FYI

First Miflex failure I've heard of. I'd be very interested if you can positively identify what failed.

Interesting, did it work initially and failed during the dive or did it not work from the get go?

I would be looking a lot harder at that schradder valve. But once you cut the hose, it doesn't much matter. Was the extension on the schradder valve that engages the end of the LPI connection still intact?

First LP one I heard of. I would also look at the valve. How old is the hose and about how many dives on it.

Extension looks perfect, even looked with magnifying glass and compared to another hose, looks fine. Inflated the wing to maximum, connected the cut end back to the inflator, inflator button allows a small air to flow back out the cut hose.

I think it's about 2 years old, about a 100 dives, fresh and salt water
