I got certified in 2007. After a few years of sitting around on shore while my buddy & I were diving she finally wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

My wife is medically unfit for diving. She has multiple issues. Any one of the issues could probably be controlled but when you have 4 or 5 things getting all of them to behave long enough for a dive becomes next to impossible. We met before I knew about scuba but she saw how much I liked it when I tried a DSD that she has encouraged me to pursue it.

I met my wife the first time while i was away doing open water checkouts. She was already qualified.

We started dating when i did my AOW, she was a DM then.

A year later we got engaged on a dive trip to mexico

We are getting married on the beach in 3 weeks on a dive trip to St Lucia

The DH & I had been together around 25 years when he first mentioned wanting to learn to dive. I finally gave in and we got certified. Since then we've done around 360 dives together, but I'd say I've become much more addicted than he has.

My daughter got me into diving. The Don had done some diving when he lived in Thailand. He grew up on water--bayou, Philippines, Corpus Christi, Thailand...but like SD888, he is medically incapable of diving. But he is gung-ho about me traveling to dive. He'll just be the awesome photographer during the SI!
