    DM protects reef!

While diving today I saw our DM chastise a diver for tearing up the coral. He was going for a picture of a small puffer and was crawling over the bottom chasing the little guy. The DM grabbed him by the fins and yanked him off the bottom. When he gave the DM a WTH look he got the naughty boy finger wave right in his face. I just about spit my reg out.

    Nothing!

The DM did a good job talking about touch nothing during his briefing. This was a good diver with good air and skills but I am afraid he is one of those guys who feels entitled. He didn't make an ass of himself but I don't know if he got it either.

Some people are like a Slinky, not really good for anything but they do make you smile when you push them down stairs.

A DM with one of the local ops gave a bear hug to a douche riding a turtle, (thus riding him) contradictory to the briefing.

I don't know if it is true, but I was told if a female is overstressed, she'll drop her clutch.

Yay! I really hate to see things like that - especially the turtle abuse! A popular shore dive site here is known for turtles and I really hate to see them chased or "ridden".

Supposedly there is a fine here for touching the endangered turtles, but I haven't been able to find out how you would actually report it if you saw it happen - assuming it is a random stranger, of course - I'd have no problem letting a boat captain or DM know if I was in a group.

I frequently use the well understood "middle finger" sign in those cases....

    LOL.

Even Moi (or Je) has gone beyond the middle finger. But it gives me a warm and fuzzy to fin down some punk and waive the index finger in the face.
