    Lake Tenkiller update

Rick and I dove the Scuba Park today at Lake Tenkiller. Surface temp was 59 degrees, at 50 ft. it was 55 degrees, and at 60 ft. it was 54 degrees. There was no thermocline. Visibility was about 15 ft. It was a bright sunny day and didn't even need a light down to 62 feet. The lake is only about 2 ft. below normal, the back of the helicopter sets at 50 ft. Finally temps are above 50, and it was a great day to dive.

SWEPCO was only 61. We should have dove Tenkiller.

There was a class from ORU there doing their OW dives. I was suprised when we drove up and saw all the cars, we didn't expect to see anyone there. They do have the bathrooms open now also.

SWEPCO is a powerplant cooling lake. It's dirty and the vis stinks, but it is usually warm. It hasn't been that warm the past couple of weeks. I was there in December and the air temp was 17. The water temp was 70.

Are there any other interesting dive sites at Tenkiller that one needs a boat for? I have a cabin cruiser that I take up to Tenkiller from time to time and am curious of sites that are off the beaten path.

Tim at Nautical Adventures in Cookson, can give you coordinates for many sites that you can only get to by boat. I dove the island out in front of the Scuba Park and it has a very nice wall to dive. I have found several anchors there also.

Has anyone dove the town? The website said there was a cool town to dive

You guys get the coordinates to some of these "boat only" locations, and I'll provide the boat. My wife won't dive in Tenkiller, but I will give it a go with you guys. She can stay on the boat and keep an eye on things topside.

The boat will hold a few with scuba gear comfortably
