    Where to stay in Belize?

I'm looking to head to Belize soon with my wife and I'm looking for a CHEAP place to stay. Only requirement is Air Conditioned and not in the middle of nowhere. Any thoughts?

Well if you are going to stay on Ambergris Caye, The Mayan Princess would be cheap and offers dive packages. Ambergris Caye Diving - Belize Diving Package - Mayan Princess Hotel
    Basic acomidations but clean.

Captin Morgans is a good option aslo, nicer but still cost effective.
Belize Barrier Reef Scuba Vacation Special | Captain Morgan's Retreat

You can also try Ramons Village or Sunbreeze Beach Hotel.

If you are looking at staying off the Turneffe Atoll the cost goes up but you can look into Blackbird Caye or Turneffe Island Lodge.

On the mainland there are many options and areas but most of the diving is offshore or around the Cayes.

I'm staying at Banana Beach resort on Ambergris Caye. I'll let you know in a month how it was.....
It was recommended to us by friends who travel a lot and they were just thrilled with the place. Their selling points were: it was reasonable in price, clean, safe, right on the beach, and very friendly. They also liked the free breakfast they offerd in the restaurant on property. They did say it was very casual and low key, which is just what we were looking for. Really the only negative thing they had to say was that the rooms were dated, although very clean. They were there about 5 years ago.
