Have you taken this course? I saw it previously and wonder if it teaches you to deal with the changing conditions or if it just teaches you about the ship, its history, etc. and not so much diving skills.

My son and I dove the SG twice in one day. The first dive was zero current nice dive, lots of jacks and groupers I led this dive. The 2nd dive there was a steady current, also a nice dive with all the current we stayed in a close area near the line this was lead by my son. Btw both my son and I are rescue divers with 150+ dives each. My son lead the dive and recognized the issue with the current, and even though he was a nationally ranked competitive swimmer, this was a challenging dive. Know your limits, dive to your limits.

As others have mentioned the conditions can and do change often. The morning trips do seem to be the calmest as far as current. The tides do have something to do with it as well as the Gulf Stream.

I have 3 Dives on the Spiegal. 2 on the Duane and 2 on the Eagle. Please do not take these dives lightly. They are Advanced and Challenging. Have watched "tourist divers" take on Deco and not even have enough air left to do a safety stop. Let alone the required DECO time.

Plan your dive and Dive your Plan.. IMO a bigger cf tank than an AL80 (77cf) is a good idea if planning a AOW Deep Dive with in REC limits of NDL. I shouldn't have to explain why. DiveSafe

USF NAUI takes their Deep Specialty students to the Duane. Most have less than 20 OW dives.

Sometimes I wonder if Big is just trolling by doing these posts or if he is serious. Either way I think he is not going to pay any attention to any suggestions. Bigman, if you do the dive be safe and please go with someone that has prior experience and good experience to get you back up safe.
Lets see, to dive or not to dive? Well that is a stupid question, DIVE, DIVE, DIVE, and then DIVE some more as long as it is safe!!!!!

FF I have been wanting to post that question since I first read this post. I also had two other questions for Big.

Will you be doing the dive off your dad's new boat?

How many dives have you done since you have been in SoFl.

Sometimes I wonder if Big is even in SoFl? I have not seen one ocean dive report in the 3 months he has "been" in SoFl.
