    Rescue class and CPR

There was a comment on here the other day about CPR changes. Got me to thinking, (since I do several CPR's a day) I'm interested-- for those of you that have taken the Rescue course how many have kept up with their CPR Cert? How many years?

I've been CPR/1st Aid/1st Responder certified since 1985; so, 27 years. Kinda glad they did change some things up, was getting really bored doing the re-certifications.

I got my CPR cert as a Rescue Diver. Next year I renewed as Health and Safety Officer at work. Year after that I enrolled in Divemaster training. Re-certification is only required every other year. So I only 'officially' get re-certified every other year. However, working in a dive shop I tend to find out what the changes are every year. I just don't pay for it or submit paper work every year.

'77 to '81 CPR only, '82 to '86 EMT, '87 to now Paramedic. I've never had a lapse in my CPR card.

Took EFR in '06 for Rescue Diver. Have took the required refresher course each 2 years to keep DM status at the shop. They seem to change some stuff each time...you'd think this stuff would be figured out correctly by now with all the data available for decades. I read a page of the manual daily and found the 2 reviews redundant (and costly) except for the changes (which could be mailed to you).
