    DiveDuino

    Hi guys

    This is what i have been working on. basically i want to make a depth logger to logg my profile, plus i want cool screen with graphics to see my depth which some of us could not see because only the expensive computers have a big lcd screenn..

    so this starts here, i will be uploading information to a webpage soon...

    also i will put it on several test dives since it is ready... this is just a prototype, i want to make it smaller

    if you have any ideas and you are willing to help, let me know.

    it is easy to programs since it uses the arduino plattaform which is free, i am planning to make it free to everyone...

    this will save the information to a .txt file on a memory card...

    Interesting; what transducers do you intend to use?

    I'm assuming the housing will also be DIY?

    the sensor i am using is the MS5541 is pretty small and easy to use, the data protocol is SPI

    MS5541-30C

    the housing right now is an Otterbox water proof to 100 feet

    i will try to design something smaller and try to attach the lcd as close as i can to the plastic, plus i dont want to use that LCD, i will put an oled lcd on the next version which i am planning right now...

    i will make this available online to everyone, everything made from stock parts that you can buy.... the circuit board is the only thing that will need to be made by some company to make it small( i am working on that also since i dont have board design skills);

    Here are some pictures from the new prototype i just build...

    it is 3x 2 inches...

    right now i think that if i find someone to design a board, he could make it smaller and very easy to put in a case...

    so i will be looking for some pcb designers to get this up and rolling and the idea is that everyone can write his own code, own interface and even add more functions....
