    Switching to BP/W

I am finally going to do it. I am ordering the Oxycheq 16lb wing and bp for my trip in December.

I just can't figure out if I should get a colored one or a black one. Red would look pretty sharp on a black wet suit or even purple.

What do you guys think? To flashy?

Once you go black, you will never go back.

I would consider getting the 30lb over the 18lb wing. The only real difference in size is about 3-4" longer. (I have both) You are not really sacrificing any extra bulk as far as traveling.

If you believe you might be in location where you would need more than 10-12lbs of lead or choppy seas the extra lift may be more comfortable at the surface.

Of course it must be black.....

I agree also, I have the 30lb wing and dive with another brand 20lb wing. The 30lb wing holds you head higher in rough seas makes waiting on the surface a little easier. Also a 18lbs wing is little small for small steel tanks (LP85, HP100) where a 30lbs wing would work fine.

It's good that you guys brought that up. I was going to bring the lift question to the boards. I had the surface concern as well. I will be doing some shore diving my next trip which means swimming out from the beach.

I was talking to a rep at ST's and he was saying since you are technically neutral you have 16lbs of positive lift. I am usually over weighted.

I dive about twenty pounds of weight I am 6'5 and some might say a little on the heavy side but if they say it in front of me they get a nipple twister.

So you guys are saying bigger wing but not purple?
