    Nitrox Diver vs Nitrox Recognition

Is there any real advantage to the NAUI Nitrox Diver card versus their recognition card? Since it just requires a couple of dives after taking the class, I was thinking of going for diver. I'm assuming I would just need to make arrangements with Scuba Toys to meet up with an OW class at Clear Springs so an instructor could check my dive planning and then sign off that I have made the dives successfully.

    There is really no need....

It was a situation where when they said they wanted to not require dives (as they don't mean anything... you do not press your inflator any different... you don't clear your reg any different, you don't ascend any different...) some old moss back instructors argued it was wrong teaching a scuba class without dives. I'm not sure if they want to teach equipment specialty under water as well.. but that was basically the argument. To give out a card, they should dive. So the powers that be came up with the compromise that you could do them and get one card, not do them and get the other. Either will be equally accepted anywhere.

Your planning and testing can all be done in our class room... really don't have to do it at the lake.

Thanks Larry, I'll be there next Wednesday (if the math doesn't make what little brain I have left explode)!
