Have not tried the floaty door. Migh have saved me from losing a Gopro 2
I use and aquapod pole and have it clipped two places when not using and one when I am
Lots of people talk about the moisture thingies. They are available from gopo as strips.
Never use them. The only time I have condensation issues is on the surface if it sits in the sune. I keep my housing open near the AC at the hotel, then close it before going out. Never had a fog, but I dive warm water all the time. Might be an issue in cold diving.

Gladd I could help, most of what I am passing on came to be by Marty and others so I am just passing it along

Okay, had the Go Pro Hero 3 for a couple of days now and am slowly beginning to figure it out. Between this forum and lots of you tube I am piecing it together. It took me 1/2 day to get it paired. Turns out when I installed the cine software, it renamed my wifi. I finally figured that out and now can connect my iPad to my go pro. Pretty cool if you ask me. I have a Windows phone and it is not supported at least in the older Nokia.

I have bought a couple extra things. The LCD screen is a must as well as an extra battery. I got the floaty door, not sure if that will be useful. Now for the question. I want a pole that will work in salt water. Here is what I have come up with. Which to choose?

I am leaning toward the Go Scope. It's half the cost of the aquapod. I had a problem with Sealife years ago with a flooded camera. It had a bad "O" ring glued to the case. It was quite obvious that it was a manufacturers error. Sealife basically told me, "oh, well". I have vowed never to buy from SeaLife again.

    Not very well
The field of view on the gopro I think is 170 degrees
I have the LCD back pack for framing as a view finder. I dont use it diving
with that broad field of view just get it pointed in the general direction and you will not miss it

I bought the LCD bacpac too. It sure came with a lot of back doors. Why don't you use it for diving?

How about the red filter. Did you get one? Anything specific to look for?

I got the blurfix filter from snakeriver prototype after reading a gazillion posts
Chose it because of the filter element seemed superior, the clip on housing for the filter allows for other 55mm filters to be used. like a polarized filter for surface videos in the sunlight.

The LCD backpack is good for framing and settings, but under water on the end of a pole it was not big and bright enough for effective framing. I chose to use 2.7k wide field of view so if my subject is not centered I can move the actual footage around in the smaller 1080p frame. The battery on a one tank dive will be low if you use it a lot. so I opt to save the battery rather than power the lcd. If you have the camera on the pole at 90 degrees you can point the polde at what you are trying to shoot. works fine

the reason I dont like that pole on amazon is that is why I lost my gopro2. the little metal ring on the base came lose and the camera fell off my bcd climbing back on the boat. The aquaod has a stonger metal ring on the bottom, and I secure it at two points on my bcd when not using it
