Tips and Tricks for the GoPro Hero video system

I'm starting this thread for anyone to add there tips and tricks for making GoPro Videos. I have been video taping for a long time; but, still consider myself a novice when it comes to good pictures. Please feel free to chime in with your advice.

No mattter what my current interest BBQ, Diving, Video Editing, Graphics I find user forums are the best source of information
    for gopro google gopro forums

gopro free users was the first forum out there, leans pro gopro and has little tolerance for bad mouthing gopro so to me less effetive and the owner can be a bit of a tool
gopro users tends to beat up on gopro a little more and seems to have been the answer to the free users gopro bias
gopro fanatics is the one I frequent most, not the most informative but has a good mix of user experiences and that is what I like to read

I will check them all out. As you know I haven't been impressed with my GoPro; but, as I learn how to use it I like it better and better. My Aquapod should arrive Tuesday. I can't wait 'till I can try that out. It will be in the pool; but, at least it is wet.
Roger that on the different forums. Everything I learn now comes from the forums and of course youtube is awesome. I am a visual learner and it is amazing that people have the exact same problem as I do and put it on youtube when they figure it out.

what you will find with the gopro is bang for buck
it will give you great results for a lot less than more expensive rigs. note that I did not say the same result
you can get better options and results spending moree money
but for the 500 I have invested I am getting gret results that I am very happy with above and below the water
play with it on your car sone, test your editing workflow
20% of the time invested in producing an end product is shooting the video. I have hours and hours of un processed video
