    Took the GoPro Dive

So the wife comes through with my Christmas present early (just in time for our Bonaire trip). She got me the GoPro Black 3+. Awesome new toy! Been playing around with it and there are just too many options. I'll have to do a lot of diving to figure all this out.....any pointers out there????

One thing I have noticed is that although the 3+ has updated circuitry....they did away with the awesome dive housing that the traditional 3 had. It still can go underwater, but the latch on the new design seems a little easy to hit and open up....thinking I need to order the traditional housing with the locking latch. With that, the red filter will work on that housing anyway.

Anyway, thought I would throw out a request for all you who have already taken the GoPro plunge and solicit any pointers.

Congratulations on your early Christmas gift! The GoPro cameras are awesome. It is amazing that most divers can create a decent composition without a monitor to check the lens framing.
I can't wait to see some of your surface interval and dive videos.

if you can get a red filter before your dive do
shoot 2.7k 30fps protune with camraw white balance if your light is going to be low (overcast or deep)
1080p 60fps protune camraw if it is bright

    Thanks.

And, Thanks for the heads up on the settings. That is something I've been researching and so far a lot of it is all Greek, but I'm getting there.
