    RipTide BCDs?

You all probably remember the Riptide BCDs for sale here a few years ago. Aside from the orange color, the harness looked super comfortable. I've been googling my tuchis off, and the most recent contact email address is on something called "AOL." I've never heard of "AOL" and I'm not sure that it ever existed. I did find images of a non-orange Riptide harness, and it looked really comfy. Does anyone know the story behind that company? I'm just curious. And bored.

Met a guy on a ST trip that had one. He seemed to like it but it is BIG. I know that the current caught him on one dive and it was a real fight.

I just replaced my orange Riptide Zone from 2007 with a new Hollis back inflate. Loved the fit of the Riptide but wasn't crazy about having the bladder wrapped around me, I feel it made staying horizontal tougher. The old orange BCD should be on the loaner rack by the Scuba Toys pool, I left it in case it was a good fit for a new student, I'm not big on accumulating stuff. Don't know if Riptide still exists or not.

I still have and use my black riptide. It's a nice BC. Just replaced I with a jet pak.
