    New Years Day Dives

Anyone brave the elements and dive on New Years Day?

I was working so it was a no for me.

I once saved a man in Wichita just to watch him dive...(inventor)

I'm only dreaming of dives right now....I worked 68 hours last week. That will help pay for part of a dive trip...

I've been looking forward to ice diving a while, but no such luck
Rock on, go big or go home, hit the ground running, hang in there kitty... don't eat the yellow snow...

I was driving from Canada to Dallas. So no diving for me.

Probably not the diving you are thinking of but some crazies in this area celebrate New Years by cutting a hole in the ice and going for a "Polar Bear Plunge" in bathing suits. Or some dress up in costumes. It raises money for charities. Thanks, but I will watch your antics on TV, beside the fire, with a nice hot buttered rum in hand.
And on the eighth day, God said, "OK, Murphy, you take over"

That's easy. With ice diving, you need a team of, like, 4 people to handle 2 divers. makes you feel important

I did the Tenchiller dive with Gene's Aqua Pro at Tenkiller. Water Temp was 48 degrees, air temp was 28. There were about 12 divers and several support people. After the dive we went back to the shop for food and drinks. The new owner of Gene's has done a bunch of work to improve the shop and is very pro-active in the dive community.

No diving around here ... although we've had enough rain that you'd think we could!

Hmm, sounds interesting. It is around a 4 hour drive from Dallas to Tenkiller. Maybe I'll get up early one Saturday and come check it out.
