Oh sorry Scurvywood is just a nickname for Sherwood gear. People either hate em or love em. They vent my exhaust to the sides, No jaw strain due to lightness and 2 swivel points, have a so called "moisture reed, an adjustable valve to adjust how hard u have to pull to get air (therefore all positions in the water column are easy to breath in. and because the second stage air hose goes under the arm helps with streamlining. They are incredibly simple as far as mechanical so are known to be reliable. I bought mine in 1999 and have never had em serviced or had a problem with them ....yet. After 15 years and haven't been in the water in approximately 2 years I want to replace the seats and O-rings just to be safe. But I refuse to pay someone to do this when they r so simple. Can you tell I like em? Lol. Heck I'm still using my fins I bought in 1996-97ish Mares Avante Quattro. Kind of funny to see the looks of people when I pull them out on a boat full of peeps with shiney new fins.

    I-Need-Air,

From what I can see you have a Sherwood Maximus Regulator and a Sherwood Minimus Octo. They look to be about 8 years old or so give or take a year. They made that model for quite a while.
    Thanks,
    Joey

Thanx jojo I got about a week off from work before we leave. Think I'll try and stop by the store asap and pick up a few essentials. Rings for reg, straps/buckles for my fins, etc. Do yall keep Mares Avanti Quantro buckles/straps in stock or do I need to order em way in advance? Mine are so old I think I would like a back up pair in case they snap. Oh and the regs were bought in 98/99 at the earliest, what can I say... I get attached to my old gear hehe
