    Cool Howdy from Dallas, Texas!

VERY new to diving (started exactly 1 month ago), and just returned from Cozumel. While I've "caught the bug" as my brother would say, I am also an avid cyclist so I'll be splitting time between the two activities. Plus, having 4 kids takes "just a little" of my time...

    Welcome Ryan,

Gotta love this weather. Started 1 month ago? I'm assuming you didn't do your open water in Dallas.

If you need a dive buddy I always have two full tanks and a full set of gear.

If you are just looking for information this is a great place to be.

It's definitely a shock after being in Cozumel last week.

I did my Open Water in Lake Travis a few weeks ago. What can I say about 52 degree, murky, green water?

My brother and his buddies regularly dive in Terrell. I'm sure I'll be joining them, trying to improve my knowledge and skills. The more, the merrier.

I go out to Clear Springs Scuba Park (Terrell) from time to time. Good place to practice skills and I can usually find a dive buddy if I just hang out by the ScubaToys pavilion. Been out there once with Scubadillo Scuba Club as well.

Haven't been to Lake Travis since August. It was cold back then but I was wearing a 3mm wetsuit. Would need my 7mm wetsuit now. At least the weather is better in Austin.

Sadly, the water was warmer than the air that day. 7 mil with hood and gloves... Not all that bad... Once everything went numb... I just kept saying "1 week until Cozumel..."

I'll let you know when we are going. I'm thinking April.

Love the drive to work today. If you know how to drive on ice is is actually a really beautiful day today in Dallas.

Hopefully by April diving at CSSP will be okay. Definitely give me a shout if you want a buddy to go diving with. I also bought a season pass for Athens Scuba Park. So I plan on going down there a few times this year.
