    New Gear Caddy

So, I went out and got a new and improved gear caddy for local trips (read as "Navy packs juuuust a little heavy!")

    It measures 37" long , 23" high, 23" deep

So far, I am able to get all the gear in it and the top is made in suck a way that it shows promise to hold a 2-tank rack in the future.

It's the Husky 37" (50 Gallon) Mobile Job Box from Home Depot. $64. If you're not as a big gear hauler as me, there in a shorter one that also showed promise for a normal dive ensemble, the Husky 35" Mobile Job Box is 35" long, 13.6" high and 22.5" deep.

I once saved a man in Wichita just to watch him dive...(inventor)

How much does it weigh empty?
And on the eighth day, God said, "OK, Murphy, you take over"

How much will it weigh full too? You're going to have to get your son to help lift it into the truck.

I see ramps and a winch as the next DIY project.

Empty weight is 15 - 20 lbs. My son could lift it empty without much effort.

Right now, there's 3 regulator sets, a sidemount SMS-50 and SMS-100 - each with setsup, 2 pair of gloves, 2 hoods, boots, about 4 lights, 2 pair of fins (Hollis F1 and Mares Plana) a couple of compass', knives, 3-4 reels, SMBs, lift bags, DUI weight harness, spare depth guage, 3-4 tank lights... and a few other things, I think Total weight right now is around 90 lbs. Max weight is 200 lbs.

I figured if worse came to worse, I'd get one of those trailer hitch mounts for a mobility scooter... roll it on, push a button and up it goes.

Nice. I have a similar, though less study looking one. Use it when I head to the quarry and it keeps my most dived gear organized at home.

Buddy bought a small trailer and put one of those huge lockable tool boxes you see at construction sites. Tanks sit on the trailer and get strapped around the box. Gear goes inside the box letting three divers travel together in a small SUV.

I bought one a couple of years ago and I keep it in the garage. I love it. It is hermetically sealed or at least a close approximation of it and it keeps the moisture out fairly well. It fits in my jeep perfectly.
