Stuck Zipper

I have a nice dive bag with a stuck zipper. The back of the bag where you unzip the shoulder straps is stuck. It is encrusted salt. Besides, hot water is there anything else that will loosen the salt. I have been dipping it with hot water from a paint brush for an hour with no results.

soak in how water and scrub with a tooth brushis that does not work it may be more than just salt there is a product called Lime Away that removes mineral depositsyou could try that

The Hot Water finally worked SJ. It took a couple of hours. It slides fairly well now. Thanks for the tip.

The back light on my Oceanic Pro Plus 2 is not working. Any suggestions?

Now that it working (zipper) you might want to spray it with silicone, both sides as this will help keep the water off. If worried about discoloring the bag tape the bag off to mask it. Used to do this to some of my gear bags for Police/Ems that would be placed in mud & other messes.

I have some silicone MCR; but, it has some petroleum stuff in it. It's a spray. I have been looking for the food grade spray. I suppose it won't hurt a plastic zipper though.

Curses, Zeagle, because I suggested an answer for your stuck zipper on a dive bag. I now have a stuck zipper on my dive bag. I went to get my fins out to start using them in the pool to help tone the legs and found it stuck solid. At least it was 3/4 open & I was able to get everything out. So it's soaking the bag & trying ti fix it. but if it comes down to it, my $19 bag from wally world has made 3 trips to Egypt, 6 to Coz, 2 to Clear Springs, 1 on a cruise & 1 to Fla. so I can complain too much,I have another one just like it waiting to be used.

Soak it in hot water as hot as it can stand for a couple of hours. It worked for me.

I used the candle wax on most of my zippers and it seems to work. I put silicone on the big dive bag though.

Thanks I'll try but the bag is getting a little worn as it has hole rubbed in it patched by duck tape, so maybe I need to switch bags. I'm going monday to visit my brother to pin him down about going to Coz in August.
