    Still looking for fins

I'm trying to settle on the "right" pair of fins for me and so far haven't found the pair that speaks to me. I'm currently looking into Sherwood's Triton fins. They got very good scores from ScubaLab but I'm hoping to get some opinions from other people who have tried them. Anyone here have any experience with these?

Good luck in you quest. I've not used them as I have 3 pairs of fins I like: Hollis F1's, Scubapro Jets and Diverite XT's I looked at the Sherwood site and those look pretty good, kind of a vented/paddle/sort-of-split fin hybrid.

    Daebado,

I have them here in my store and used them in the pool for Demo's. I have only kicked a few kicks on them but they have had such a popular response that we are most likely going to put make them one of our primary options in our personal gear packages. From what I noticed out of them, they have respond well to light kicks and strong kicks giving you the versatility of ease and power. However the thing that strikes me as impressive is the light weight and durability. All around an awesome fin for the price.
    Thanks,
    Joey

Yeah sorry about that. We are still trying to get the new site finished and it will be on that one once we get it launched. Hopefully sooner than later.
    Thanks,
    Joey

Thanks for the replies, guys. Joey, how do I go about getting pricing and ordering info? I have some other questions as well that may be better handled in a PM. Thanks.

Here what I ask people when I hear this question. How do you kick? What kind of diving are your doing?

I have an old pair of Scubapro split fins. They were great when I did mostly a flutter type kick. Good power for less effort and easy on the knees. As I moved more into tec. diving with overhead environment I transitioned to a frog kick. Split fins sucked for that kind of kick. I have frog fins which are heavy but work great and OMS Slipstream. The OMS have seen 100's of dive all over the place. They are light and work great for frog kicking. I have peoblems with one of my knees and if I was doing the flutter style kick I would go back to my slip fins. Much easier on the knees with that kind of kick.

If you dive enough your end up with a few sets of fins.

Thanks, Comet. I just ordered a pair of the Sherwood's from Joey and they should arrive today. This makes 3 pair of fins for me now so I guess I'm well on my way! Still looking for that pair that speaks to me, though. I feel that when I find the right ones, I will just know it and I can't say I feel that way about the other 2 pair I currently have (one pair of splits and one pair of blades).

One piece of advice Daebado: A lot of folks head to the local pool to try them out, but forget where and how they will be used. If you can, bring a full set of gear and try them out swimming laps underwater. A pair of fins that feel great on the surface wearing nothing but a swimsuit may not feel that great with a full set of gear and your normal thermal protection.

I've got FreeFrog's, Aeris Velocity 3X, and Aeris Accel fins. In an extensive objective test I can't tell the difference. The Accel's are the shortest and light and I now use them almost exclusively. They are especially good for travel.
    Abandon all hope ...
