    Dahab Egypt

Got back last week and have been catching up on everything.
Our land trip was terrific as we got to see some new sites and Neffataris tomb. .
Was treated to serveral nice dinners/lunches
Dive portion was terrific. Started with 3 1/2 days of diving at Dive Urge in Dahab, Egypt. Our DM was really good ( we used him before). Bad thing was my brother possibly got some bad water in Aswan the day before we arrived in Dahab. He made the check dive & one more the next day. Then spent the next few days near the bathroom. Ended up at a local DR who gave him an IV & serveral antibiotics that fixed him up.I made 2 dives each day from the shore. Saw stone fish, spotted rays, white morays , and tons of little fish. Can't say enough good things about the dive op as they were there taking care of my brother.
lkeft Dahab for Sharm & King Snefro Fleet. Was met at the head of the jetty by our DM and a crewman with a cart for our gear. Got us aboard the Snefro 5 & showed us our cabins. DM then went over all the in's & out's of the boat. We were the first aboard and 3 others showed up in the eveing the final 2 came in around 3 am. Got up at 7 am when the boat departed the harbor. Made the check dive on a shallow reef. Lots of fish. Later I did a drift dive on a wall. My brother decided to sit most of the dives out. In the morning at ^am we got ready to dive on the Thilstegorm, WW2 British ship carrying war supplies & sunk by German aircraft. The current was pretty stiff and we went down a rope to the ship. Our DM decided to take us inside the holds on the first dive due to the current. We saw BSA, Royal Enfield & Matchless motorcycles, enfield rifles, trucks, a bren carrier, munitions, train locomotive with tender. bomb damage. Not many fish but we were at 100 ft. After surfacing both my brother 7 I were really happy with the dive and decided to not make the 2nd dive just looking at the outside of the ship. The night we did a night dive that wasn't anything to speak of. The next morning I dove on the :Toilet" wreck. A ship had hit the reef carrying toilets that were all over the place. I had pipe fish escort me the whole dive staying just above my head. Once he decided to come down across my mask rubbing my nose & chin. There must of been thousands of small fish in serveral groups. Different colors near wonderful coral heads. Saw a couple of small barracudas cruising by. I skipped the next dive as I was colder each dive & did'nt want get sick.
The food and service was terrific on board. Always something hot when you came up, snacks served between dives and plenty at the meals. Crew was always cleaning your room and the boat.
We stayed 2 days in Sharm degassing and eating Lamb or Calamari for lunch & dinner. Plus having hot tea every few hours.
Then the trip back was beating. From the time we left our hotel til I got to my home was 30 hours in cabs, airports, airplanes, & the family car. Next time we'll break it up a little more.

It was amazing. I have been to Dahab 4 times staying at Dive Urge each time, very attentive to your needs without being underfoot. They are not the cheapest but the best for us. private DM's, single rooms, clean rooms.
