    Best Instructor you ever had...

Was Richard... from Cayman Diving School at Parrot's Landing... I don't remember his last name but he would drink Corona's by the pool while instucting us and he smoked cigars while we floated on our backs and swan out to the nearby reef.

I know this is not cool... but this was what happened in 1991 in the Cayman Islands... things we WAY RELAAXED... Amazing huh?

    What is your story???

When getting my OW, our class was divided into two for the weekend. My instructor was a former commercial diver and very comprehesive. The other group would we done their dives and debrief several hours before we were, due to very long debriefing sessions lakeside.

Also met an instructor who offered to sell me my advanced cert. and forgo the dives and instruction.

    Best and worst I suppose.

Tim Knight at nautical adventures Cookson, ok. He was the only person to get my wife to figure out bouyancy, really patient, loves to help, and loves to dive, and can show you some awesome places. Plus i've learned alot from him just going diving with him a couple of times, and just talking to him.

Gary Atkins. I started as a terrified student and he got me hooked. he answered all my dumb questions with compassion and patience. I saw him recently and he was surprised that I;m still diving.. he told me that I was a 'tough nut to crack' i just told him that I;m just a nut

I just got certified in October. My instructors, Duane and Laura Hausch of Admirality Dive Center in St Thomas, also happen to be two of my best friends. They are AWESOME instructors regardless, and cut me NO SLACK just because I am a friend. As I am also legally blind, they wanted to make damn sure I knew what I was doing and didn't have any problems diong it so that they knew I'd be able to dive safely no matter where I am. I'm going back as soon as I can afford it to get my AOW.
Is that an SMB in your wetsuit or are you just happy to see me?
