I left off "enjoy the trip", so that has been added now.

I purposefully left off the discussion of the dive sites, since most of the multi-day liveboards will frequent the same sites -- especially if they head to Osprey Reef.

I was trying to show the experience provided by going with Taka so people could get some flavor.

    GBR

Hi. If you are going to do the GBR out of Cairns, I would suggest doing a liveaboard. I found the day boat dive sites out of Cairns to be really over dived. But out of the day boat operators I've used, I liked Tusa dive the best (although I haven't tried many others).

TUSA1 and TUSA2 are the best dive boats and one of the most professional and fun crews i have ever dived with

GBR is definitely on my list of places I want to dive in my lifetime. Great report above... I'd love to hear reports from anybody else who's ever dove there too!

I dove the GBR and Coral Sea back in 2002 and am returning there in October before heading to PNG. This trip I hope to the Yongala Wreck as well as a 7 day liveaboard on the Spirit of Freedom up to ribbon reefs and Osprey reef of the Coral Sea. I'll post reports upon return.

One thing to combine with a trip to the Northern GBR....go south to Heron Island....spend a few days....some good to very good diving.
