that would have been my guess - once it is edited no one can see the original - unless somebody already quoted your original message prior to editing - then the original will show up in their message

There is a possible add-on to the software that allows mods to see what was previously written. Chances are if you make an outlandish statement, someone will quote it before you can edit it.

In case you want to.. you can leave it blank... or put "oops... duplicate of my thread in blah, blah..." Or "Bob had a better answer - so I'm deleting mine."
