Which agencies require rescue?

To do TDI Advanced Nitrox the prerequisites are:
1)15 years old
2)Nitrox Certified
3)25 logged Dives

No idea about other agencies

Irrespective of Rescue being required or not it is an excellent course.
DSAT is the only program I am aware of that req. Rescue....but as you said...it is a given to take if your interest lies in any technical diving.

I just talked to Robert at Blue Sea Adventures in Rockwall, TX. They offer this solo certification from SDI. He said it is two night's of classroom. Then several dives and possibly some equipment. Cost is $299.00

Anyone interested in doing a group certification?

I can get into a Solo Class if I can get at least two other people to take it with me. Man It's gonna be so cool if I do ... just me and those other Solo People
"We'll be all alone by ourselves" and stuff like that

Hmmm.... "all alone by ourselves". That's redundant.....
Or is it an Oxygen Moron??? Shoot, I just don't know.
What ever ,,, I think they say you should do that if you go Solo right

No card here. Don't plan on getting one, but who knows, maybe some day I'll need to. If the time comes I'll get it.

I agree this is just another money maker for PADI or whomever. Solo diving is either something many of us can do with the right gear safely, or something many of us can't do no matter what. I doubt this class rejects anyone for not passing the I can think on my own test. That really is what solo diving is. Like it or not, some people panik at the slightest malfunction, and some people will sit calm and think their way all the way to the absolute last chance of anything calmly and cooly. It is up to each and everyones personal level of judgement that they must develope their gear and style and type of diving they can do safely.
I dive solo virtually every dive. I use pony bottles and have thought out as many possible situations as possible, and what the correct action should be. I also try to be as honest with myself as possible about how I think I would react in that situation or some other unthought of situation. I also definatly make decisions as to what kind of situation I will, or will not, put myself in, while I'm down there, very often. I personally will not enter a wreck or try to wedge under a ledge in any way, at all, while solo diving etc...
I believe there are many people who plain should be banned from solo diving. But that is one of the great things about diving: There are no rules and you can do whatever you want, and noone will stop you. The problem is many people live their lives with the notion that someone will save them from themselves. Being certified a solo diver is only a launchpad for one of these types of people to get themselves killed. Like it or not, Solo diving is a decision you need to be honest with yourself about. It can be very safe, or the 100% opposite. No second chances is the ramification.
