The same held true for me as well, When out with classes that were ready to be let loose on thier own, I'd drift off by myself and relax after a bit it just became habit I suppose.

Although I still can get a kick out of the look and excitement that is so contageous in newby divers.

I started because I couldn't find buddies that wanted to dive as much as I did. so I stopped looking and found a wonderful independance in it. Don't have to keeping checking on a buddy. Now I do it less, but I am only diving a couple times a year right now, where I used to dive a couple of times a week, moving 5 hours from the closest dive site sucks.

Started diving solo because I couldn't find a buddy. Now I love it.

The reason I started solo diving was simply because I dive a lot more than any of my dive buddies and couldn't always coordinate schedules. Got my Solo Cert. because of being paired up with a terrible Insta-Buddy on a 4-day live aboard.

Mostly, I enjoy the peaceful feeling of diving alone without the pressure of keeping track of, and worrying about, a buddy. One of my buddies is an ex-Navy diver. 75% of the time we go diving together we end up solo just because we're comfortable with each other's abilities and agree at the beginning of every dive whether it's OK to split up during the dive or not.

Hey Rainmaker,

Where do you get your fills at? Bill's? I've never stopped in at off the wall charters, but plan on diving through the week soon and need a place to get tanks filled.

thanks

I'm planning on diving solo a bit net year when summer comes around. I'm going to set up a depth limit of 30 feet for myself though. At least I can do an emergency assent without trouble.

Started Solo in Bonaire. The house we rent has a nice reef and super easy in and out. Dove it numerous times prior to going solo. Now I love solo. The amount of photography I do--I must as well be solo.

I started to get longer bottom times. It's so relaxing not having to watch out for a buddy...
