Its interesting to think the two different situations that where possible. The guys equipment failed and his buddy did not or could not help. Or the buddy messed up the dive equipment and watched his friend die. Bad news either way.

1) Article was from 2005, accident was in 2003

2) Always read anything reported by CDNN with extreme suspicion. They've been nailed MANY times printing complete fabrications with zero fact checking, and never post retractions. Terrible site.

You are correct. I should have checked my facts before blindly passing this along. Mia Culpa (sp)

Truth or not. I'd hate to get sued for 4.5 million.

Someday CDNN will be known for what they are, until then pass the word along.

Whether the incident is true or not, it does give us something to think about.

It is totally feasible that a deceased diver's relatives could sue a dive-buddy for some real or imagined incident that occurred during the ill-fated dive. And I'll probably be thinking about it the next time I get hooked up with some insta-buddy on a dive boat.

Thanks for posting the link.

Instabuddies are like meeting women in bars...
